CD

A CD, or compact disc, is a small, optical disc that stores digital data using microscopic pits and lands. This digital data can represent music, movies, or computer files. A CD player uses a laser to read the data on the disc, converting it back into an electrical signal that can be played through headphones or speakers. While convenient and durable, CDs have been largely replaced by digital downloads and streaming services due to their limited storage capacity.
