Electrostatic Energizers

Electrostatic energizers are essentially supercharged headphone amplifiers specifically designed for electrostatic headphones. Regular headphones use dynamic drivers, but electrostatic headphones use ultra-thin diaphragms that require much higher voltages (hundreds to thousands of volts) to vibrate and produce sound. An electrostatic energizer takes a regular audio signal and cranks it up to these high voltages, unlocking the exceptional detail and clarity these headphones are known for, although at the cost of portability due to the need for this separate unit.
